Citilink is getting new fareboxes soon, and that means we’re retiring the old plastic mag-stripe bus passes and paper tickets.
If you still have unused old passes, don’t worry! You can trade them for new ones for free. This offer is only for a short time, so make the swap soon.
Exchange Your Passes
You can swap your unused passes through January 31.
Beginning January 1, the farebox slot that activates new passes will be covered, though riders can continue using any passes they’ve already activated.
After January 31, fareboxes may be removed or placed in a temporary cash-only mode.
Eventually, all of our fareboxes will be removed and replaced with smaller fareboxes that accept exact cash only for single rides. The mobile validators will be used for daily and monthly passes.
What You Can Exchange For
- Ticket to Ride (Single Ride Pass) & All Day Pass:
→ Choose between mobile tickets or purchase a smart card to load passes onto
- 31-Day Pass:
→ Exchange for Smart Cards or mobile monthly tickets
All exchanges are one-to-one, based on the original fare type.
